Nancy Walton is an eclectic arts and crafts enthusiast who began sewing at age 12 under the tutelage of her mother. Her present passion is designing and assembling unique fabric pieces by melding various heirloom quality buttons, laces, jewelry and whimisical artifacts into creations which are displayed throughout the South, on armoire handles, bedposts, in empty picture frames on canvas, or on walls. Her pillows accent sofas, beds, swooning couches, and deacon's benches and boudoirs. Her fabric collages have been described as "high style, folksy, fun, funky, and whimsical" but mostly just FUN!
"I enjoy finding 'treasures' and recycling these previously loved and cherished items into new forms to once again be appreciated by someone."
Nancy is a member of The American Sewing Guild and lives in Birmingham. She is a treasure to us as a wonderful customer, creative teacher who loves sharing her talents with other customers, and a special friend to everyone. Check our newsletter and call us to sign up for one of her fun, unique classes.
The world of creative sewing enthusiasts were saddened to hear of the loss of this very sweet person in February, 2008. Please read our wonderful memories of her here, and join us as we remember her fondly, and pray for those family and friends who will greatly miss her, too.
